Journal: What have you learned this week about congruence and transformations? What properties (size, shape, orientation) of an image, if any, change when you perform each of the transformations studied this week? How does the orientation (location) change for each type of transformation? Where are some places in your world that you see transformations?

  1. what I learned about congruence and transformation is that congruence is important to know because if you don't know you wouldn't know which side with which has to add, subtract etc. to find the missing side ore something. What i learned about transformation is that the shape never change. either the size only the. Also the orientation changes because you have to move the image or move counter and clock wise.I see transformations in math, animals.

  2. This week in math class I learned that a transformation is a change in a figure's position or size. An image is the result of a transformation. A translationis a type of transformation where the figure slides along a line without turnning. When this transformation is done, it's size and shape stay the same. However the orientation changes but the figure is still facing in the same direction. A reflection is a translation that flips the figure across a line to create a mirror image. When this transformation is done, it's size and shape stay the same. However the image is in a different place and facing in a different place. A reflection is a figure around a point, called the central of rotation. When this transformation is done, it's size and shape stay the same. However the position is facing in a different place. I see transformations when I look in the mirror(reflections). I also see transformations one the earth, it rotates around a point.
